An article every Young Budding Photographer must read..
Yesterday I came across the link to "Magnum Photos" blog's article titled -
Wear Good Shoes: Advice to young photographers
For me, the article was among the most influencing ones I had ever read.
With the spread over of web we have hundred of forums and sites, talking about photography. But when it comes to a young budding photographer (like me) the question comes what to do first, how to start, which site to be followed etc..
Generally all forums and site are not easy to understand for young photographers who are very new to the field.
This article helps a young photographer to understand what he should begin with, how to get motivated and continue for the best.. "Alec Soth" the writer of this blog had often been asked " if he have any advice for young photographers " and instead of pouring his words he just asked this question to 35 other Magnum photos collegues, and got back the answer from most of them which he had added in this article..
All of them are asked two questions.
- When did you first get excited about photography?
- What advice would you give young photographers?
And for the above two questions every photographer had answer it in his own way..
Why I found it so influencing because of the answers written there. I often read the question by extreme beginners that " Which field should I pursue in photography " and people say that go with field you find most interesting.. But the question comes, how can you decide which field fascinates you before exploring all the fields in photography.. Its is not necessary that you should choose landscape photography because you like seeing landscape photos. Other side could be that you could be more fascinated about the wildlife but had not seen influencing photos of wildlife till now.. Same is the answer in one of the views of photographer among those 35..
Another example is, when people ask how to improve my photography. And at once others say that watch other photographer's photos and try to learn through it.. But again question comes, when a beginner is not completely educated by the facts and literature how can seeing other photos would help.. He could not anyhow understand the lightning etc be seeing the photo..
Again same was the answer by one of the photographer..
